David Young has devoted his entire career to exploring emerging technologies. Through his various projects - from early web applications and advanced supercomputers to contemporary art and innovation initiatives - David has established himself as an advocate of the new forms of creativity and expression enabled by technology. His current work, using artificial intelligence and quantum computing, questions how beauty and aesthetic experiences can offer new insights into emerging technologies. His work is also a meditation on "newness" and its inevitable obsolescence. David holds a Master's degree in Visual Studies from the Media Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as well as a degree in Computer Science from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He has taught at the Art Center College of Design (Pasadena, CA) and Parsons School of Design (New York). His work has been exhibited in numerous venues, including Kunstmuseum Bonn, Kate Vass Galerie (Zürich), Schierke Seinecke Gallery (Frankfurt), Geste (Paris), CADAF (New York, Paris, Miami), Terrain (Delhi), Institut (London), Anteism (Montreal), NeurIPS (Montreal), Asia Culture Center (Gwangju) and Nanjing University. His work is included in collections such as the Kunstmuseum Bonn and the GENAP Collection (Erlenbach/Zürich). His work has been widely covered in prestigious publications, including Artforum magazine and the covers of Espace Art Actuel and IEEE Computer Graphics. David lives and works in New York.
